Many people ask, "How can Jediism be considered a religion?"
By definition, a religion is simply a group of people united by a shared belief. For us, that shared belief is the Force.
Jediism is an incredibly personal and individualistic journey. While we are all united by a common philosophy, you'll quickly see that there are as many different paths here as there are members. We provide the foundation of the practice, but you are the architect responsible for building upon it to create your own understanding.
Here are the core principles of how Jediism works:

Only the Force: The foundation of Jediism is simple: there is only the Force. We don't have required prayers, mandatory worship sessions, or rigid ceremonies. Instead of rituals, our religion is defined by our shared ideals.

The "God" Question: Jediism stands on its own as a distinct religion focusing solely on the Force—there are no deities baked into our teachings. Because of this, belief in a God simply doesn't factor into the core of Jediism itself. We trust that the guidance of the Force will set you on your best possible path.

A Complementary Path: Because Jediism only focuses on the Force, it leaves plenty of room for other beliefs. The Jedi path can easily be integrated with other world religions. Within our community, you will find Christian Jedi, Muslim Jedi, Jewish Jedi, and many others who have incorporated this path into their chosen faith. What unites us all, regardless of our outside beliefs, is our connection to the Force.
What makes a Jedi? Obviously, the root of the word "Jediism" is "Jedi." While there is always room for healthy debate regarding the finer details of our philosophy, there are certain core views that must be present for someone to call themselves a Jedi.
