The Jediism Way was started in early 2005 as a free Tripod website. I, Xhaiden came into the Jedi community in the middle of 2004 when the Yahoo Groups were active. After becoming friends with a number of other Jedi we really believed and felt strongly about Jediism. The original Jediism website was no longer around so I decided to take my very limited website design skills and build a free website with the help of fellow Jedi Kitaru Sapien and Tatsutsume. Shortly after the launch of the Tripod website, which can still be found today (not anymore sadly), it was decided to buy a hosting plan and create a more formal website and discussion forum. The goal in creating the site was to have a fun environment for people to come together as friends and have a good time discussing the Jedi path and Jediism.
The site grew quickly and became one of the most active discussion forums in the Jedi Community. There were a ton of great members and discussions taking place which held the goal of the entire site! However, I had no experience running a full community so a team of moderators were sought out from the active members and were brought in to help keep things going in a positive direction. The site stayed strong for a few years and in early 2008 the forum had over 37,000 posts and many active members. In early 2008 some issues between members started to arise and some very intense and heated arguments started taking place between a handful of members. Due to the extreme amount of negativity and the issues, I quickly started burning out along with a lack of experience in leading a community was also a contributing factor. There were also many life transitions that were happening as I had just graduated college and was looking for a job in my career which was taking longer than I had hoped. All those factors combined I decided in the summer of 2008 to shut down the forum. The website was archived and taken down and the domain name was, sadly looking back now…sold!
A year after the site was shut down I decided that the information the site contained should not go to waste as I had heard from numerous people it helped them out so I created a static site that housed all the web page information at this domain name. I have currently been in my career in the same district for 18 years now so stability has been there combined with a sense of missing something. It dawned on me in the fall of 2024 that I really missed being a part of the Jediism community and it was time to start things up but this time, to do it right from day one! I spent the money to put a really nice system in place that would allow the community to thrive. I am going back to the roots of why I started the site back in early 2005, to create a community where we can come together and have some fun, healthy discussion, and learn together as we go along this path of a Jedi and Jediism!
